Pattern Spotlight: The Loungewear Edit - Stretch Edition

Pattern Spotlight

Our second loungewear ebook, The Loungewear Edit - Stretch Edition, is the perfect place to start if you’re wanting to work with stretch fabrics for the first time. A collection of beautiful basics, each piece is designed to be mixed and matched for the perfect lockdown wardrobe! Keep reading for an overview of our new ebook with a closer look of some of our favourite patterns!

First in the ebook we have Lydia - a super versatile pattern that can be as a jumpsuit or just as bottoms! With in seam pockets, it’s the perfect, practical day to day piece.

The Lydia jumpsuit can also be made with shorts for a playful, summer/springtime look, or create your own length with a three-quarter look. The versatility of Lydia doesn’t end there, as she can also be made in pretty much any woven fabric as well as the stretch ones, taking her from loungewear to a stylish daywear look! However, for a soft, slouchy look, a stretchy fabric is your best bet - we love Lydia in viscose single jersey or soft cotton ponte roma.

If a sleeveless look is more your thing, why not try making our Millie jumpsuit? Baggy and oversized, Millie is the comfiest item in the collection, and with no fastenings she’s an easy make, perfect for those lazy Sundays!

For a smaller scale project, why not try making Eva, your perfect pair of underwear! You can make her as knickers or a thong, with options for a high waisted pant too! To make Eva you need fabric with at least 30% cross wise stretch, as well some foldover elastic. You can also use stretch lace or picot edge elastic to finish Eva, so why not try playing with finishings, maybe in a contrasting colour? For a cute co-ord set, why not try also making the Ella bralette, also featured in the ebook, in matching colours?

One of our favourites from the ebook is Imogen - like Lydia, Imogen can be made in two ways: either as a sweater or sweater dress. With a drop shoulder and cropped sleeves, Imogen is loose fitting, super comfy and looks great styled with the Lydia shorts made in matching sweatshirting! You can play with the length of Imogen - extending her to a maxi version or shortening her for a cropped look! You can also experiment with colour and do contrasting bindings or add bright top-stitching for a fun, vibrant look.
