In this talk, Rachel will give you a full overview on what it's like to work in the world of costume making. From design to stage, she'll talk you through the full process!
Having worked in the West End on theatre and musicals, Rachel has a wealth of experience which she will share with you. From the design process at the beginning to fabric sourcing, fitting, measuring and cutting, rehearsals and tech week, Rachel will talk about the entire process of a garment. You'll learn about what she looks for in fabric (the effect under lighting and the environmental impact), developing costumes which are historically accurate but still work for stage, drafting, cutting and fitting to actors and breaking down costumes!

Rachel Hodgson has been working in the Theatre Industry for over 9 years. She has worked in the West End, toured the country with 2 hit musicals and for the last 5 years has been working in regional theatre. Credits include: Legally Blonde, Rock of Ages, Strictly Ballroom and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
