Handbuilding Pottery Workshop with Peachy Keen
Create your own Hand Built Pottery
Make your own pottery pieces in this mini course split over two sessions with Lizzie Cutts of Peachy Keen. Please ensure you can attend both dates before booking.
Working with Clay
First Workshop - Tuesday 7th July: 18.00-20.00
First session will include preparing the clay and we will explore different handbuilding techniques to create a jewellery dish/soap dish/ pencil pot or an item of your choice! Depending on the size, you may be able to make more than one piece.
Your creation will then be allowed time to air dry and be fired before the next session.
Painting and Glazing
Second Workshop - Tuesday 4th August: 18.00-20.00
Second session we will be exploring design and glazing the pots, hand painting on the glazes of your choice.
After the second session Lizzie will be firing the pots in her kiln again and will return your items to Workshop, to pick them up when is convenient for you.
Participants need to bring an apron and ideas for inspiration! Although Lizzie will have lots of ideas and can help you if you are unsure of what to make.
Suitable for absolute beginners. All materials and tools are included.
Lizzie (Peachy Keen) has attended pottery classes for 5 years and runs her own home studio and business. She enjoys collaborating with other artists and throwing on her wheel at home, in front of the window overlooking nearby sheep.
