Handmade Fabric Face Covering and/or Scrunchie - Lorna Robey
Handmade Fabric Face Covering and/or Scrunchie
Handmade screen printed fabric face coverings - a washable, colourful way to stay safe!
Pleated in front and back to create shape and closely cover the face. Soft white elastic ear hooks fasten to your face and allow the mask to fit most faces - easily adjusted if it is too loose by knotting the elastic more tightly if required. Aluminium nose wire fitted to allow a closer fit to the face.
Comes in 8 different prints - made with 4 layers of tightly-woven cotton calico, screen printed by hand in my studio. Each mask is made up of 4 x layers of fabric - the outer two (with the fun designs on) and an additional two cotton calico layers inside. Pops on your face with two 16cm soft white elastic straps which allow the mask to fit most faces very comfortably.
Standard face mask measures roughly 6cm x 21cm pleated, with a maximum 'stretch' (ie. when worn) of 15cm. Suitable for most adult faces.
Masks are washable, but as they are all hand printed you may see some change after washing. Wash with care, by hand with hot soapy water. It is recommended to wash separately from other items to ensure no colour transference.
Handmade scrunchies made with hand screen printed cotton calico fabric.
Mix and match to your mask!
Thickness is approx 5cm with elastic length of 20cm.
8 colour variations available!
Hello! I’m Lorna Robey, an illustrator and print designer based in Leeds. My practice centres around handcraft processes and manual print techniques. A love of colour, collage and screen print drives my process-led practice, while a fascination with narrative, character and human behaviour informs my illustrative style. Interested in contemporary social and political issues, I create work informed by issues that I care about.
Whilst studying Printed Textiles and Surface Pattern Design at Leeds Arts University, I developed my love for transforming paper-cut collage into intricate screen prints. As a graduate, I continued to grow my practice and business, working on freelance illustration and pattern design projects with clients, and launching my shop where you can purchase prints, greetings cards, and handcrafted interior and lifestyle products.
Specialising in hand screen printed textiles and papercut collage illustration, my work takes inspiration from the everyday; capturing city scenes and human moments and adding vibrant colour and found texture to capture the life of the city I call home.
