Children's Learn to Stitch Class Workshop
This is a summer holiday special children's embroidery class, where each child will create their own hand stitched and embellished felt decoration that we will fill with lavender and decorate with ribbons, beads and buttons.
The class is ran by embroidery artist Jessica Grady. Jessica also runs the York Young Embroiderers Group. No embroidery experience is necessary as Jessica will teach you to to create your stitched creations from scratch!
Children must be 9 or over to stay unaccompanied at the workshop, 7-8 years olds would need have an adult present throughout the class.
Jessica is a contemporary embroidery artist who works from her studio in Leeds with the assistance of her studio cat Spencer the tabby! She create colourful and highly tactile textiles and sculptures that utilise many recycled and waste materials. She also teaches workshops and courses across the country to schools, private groups and organisations. Jessica’s work has been sold and exhibited across the UK and Europe and she is also a Crafts Council Directory maker. She was awarded the Embroiderers Guild Scholar award in 2018 for her textile practice.
