Visible Mending Workshop
In this two-hour workshop, Hayley will guide you through the basics of hand embroidery and applique which can be used to repair a garment or accessory with holes or ripped seams. Inspired by the Japanese technique of Boro, the practice of reworking and repairing textiles through piecing, patching and stitching.
All materials and equipment will be provided but you will need to bring an item of clothing or an accessory that you would like to mend.
This is an online workshop.
How does it work?
Prior to the session you will receive all of the equipment and materials you will need through the post. Along with a Meeting ID and Password for Zoom. Using these, you can log in to the class at the time of the workshop!

Hayley is a artist and tutor, based in Leeds, with a passion for embroidery. She has been stitching since childhood and loves to pass on these traditional skills with a contemporary twist.
Alongside her teaching, Hayley creates embroidered drawings and sculptures for exhibitions and private commissions.
Hayley has a degree in Textile Crafts from the University of Huddersfield and a Masters in Textiles from Manchester School of Art. Take a look a her website for more details.
