Introduction to Dressmaking - Sew Along - Make our Hanna Skirt
How to make an A Line Skirt
For beginners to improvers, this is the ideal class for those who know the basics but are looking to develop their skills further. If you have done our beginners course and are looking for the next step this workshop is perfect. While some sewing knowledge is preferable, it’s not essential.
In this class you’ll follow our step by step guide to sew an A Line Skirt (one of our wardrobe staples). We’ll show you how to cut a pattern, stitch in a dart, insert a concealed zip and machine stitch or slip stitch a hem. While the class is 4 hours long, you are welcome to stay in the cafe afterwards to finish your project!
A line skirt fits sizes 6-16.
A small class of up to 4 people allows us to give you full tuition.
You’ll need to provide the fabric and a matching thread.
A stiffer fabric tends to work best for these, because they hold the A Line shape better. Take a look at our cotton twills or maybe a cord! Pop in if you need more guidance on this.
You will need 150cm if the roll is 115cm wide or 85cm if the roll is 140cm wide.
We’ll provide a zip, the sewing machines, the a line skirt pattern and the guidance.
4 hour long class including a drink, however you're welcome to stay afterwards and use the facilities free of charge.
Class time may vary from class to class depending on number of participants. If you've booked a class and are no longer to attend, please let us know 2 weeks before.
