Mini Embellished Mandalas Online Class

In this 90-minute Zoom workshop we will look at textile techniques and ideas for using colour, pattern and texture to help you create your own mini mandala inspired artwork. You will add your own embellishments and decorative hand stitches to your design. Working in an embroidery hoop will give you a frame for your finished textile art piece so that you can display it easily. This is a colourful and creative textile class that can be enjoyed by all abilities. 

This is an online workshop.

How does it work?

Prior to the session you will receive all of the equipment and materials you will need through the post. Along with a Meeting ID and Password for Zoom. Using these, you can log in to the class at the time of the workshop!

For this workshop, you need an embroidery hoop and needle. If you don't have one, add one to your order using the drop down menu.

What's included?

Each participant will receive a lucky dip materials pack to complete the live class which will contain a mix of the following: 

  • Background Fabric
  • Die-cut Recycled Sequins
  • Swatches of textile/recycled plastic/fused materials
  • Mix of beads/buttons/sequins
  • Mix of hand-painted/dyed embellishments
  • Ribbon 

You can also choose to add on a hand painted embroidery hoop and needle with your materials pack.

What's else will you need?

  • Sewing needle 
  • 4-5 inch embroidery hoop
  • Embroidery thread of your choice 
  • Scissors

Jessica is a contemporary embroidery artist who works from her studio in Leeds with the assistance of her studio cat Spencer the tabby! She create colourful and highly tactile textiles and sculptures that utilise many recycled and waste materials. She also teaches workshops and courses across the country to schools, private groups and organisations. Jessica’s work has been sold and exhibited across the UK and Europe and she is also a Crafts Council Directory maker. She was awarded the Embroiderers Guild Scholar award in 2018 for her textile practice.
