Stash De-stash at the Next Stitcher's Meet Up

Stash Destash

We are hosting a stash de-stash!

Yes, you lovely fabric leftovers hoarders and all-things-crafty collectors, today is your day.

We all have a pile of beautiful fabrics and crafty materials that were left over from various projects. We promised ourselves we would make something wonderful out of them, but in reality, they are just collecting dust. Plus they are making us feel bad about never getting around to using them! We are all as guilty as the next.

Well, shake off the dust and give them a new lease of life. Bring them along to Workshop on Sunday 2nd June from 14.00-16.00 and let someone else give them the love and care they deserve. And even better, in return, you can turn someone else's unloved fabrics into your fav new project! Win, win.

Sometimes having too much material and too much choice can hinder your creativity and you can end up overwhelmed with what to make. So come along and recycle your materials at Workshop, share some ideas and get inspired over a coffee and cake.

Our next Stitcher’s Meet Up will double as a chance to empty you stash so whether you can stay for a catch up or just want to pop down and swap your stuff, join us for a clear out!

How does a stash de-stash work?

Really simple. Bring your old fabric, yarn, buttons and general haberdashery leftovers to Workshop. All we ask is that pieces of fabric are large the quality of the items are good enough to create something fab from again. See it as though it’s a top you are lending to a friend, a top with holes in and falling apart is a no-go but if it’s in good enough condition then bring it along.

Fill up a bag. We’ll weigh it and give you 1 token per 100g. Then you can exchange 1 token for an item from someone else's stash.

Once everyone has claimed what they want, we will use the rest of the stash for charitable causes, whether this is a raffle prize at our summer party in a couple of weeks, sent to be turned into a cape for the Happy Soul Project or simply donated to Sue Ryder over the road. Then you lovelies can get creating with fresh inspiration and materials. Simple as that.

How exciting, and the best part is you get new ideas and fabrics all for free and meet like-minded people.

See you there!

Registration is open for the next sewing meet up here.
