Pattern Spotlight: Sarah Wrap Skirt

Pattern Spotlight

Sarah is a gorgeous draped wraparound skirt with a flattering tied waist that makes for the perfect fit! Being one of our easiest patterns, she's perfect for beginners - all you need is your fabric and some bias binding. To help you along the way, we've compiled a list of our favourite ways to design, fit, hack and style your very own Sarah skirt!

Design Your Sarah Wrap Skirt

Sarah works best in lightweight-medium fabrics, especially in fabrics that drape well like crepe or viscose. Making Sarah in something like this black crepe makes for a super versatile wardrobe staple that will go with anything! We also love this spotty cinnamon viscose from Sister Mintaka for an understated autumn look.

For a bolder look, why not try a bigger print? The Sarah skirt works great in a floral for an easy summer/spring look - we love this coral reef viscose, also from Sister Mintaka!

Fit Your Sarah

When picking which size to make your Sarah in, its best to base your choice off your waist measurement. Don't worry too much about sizing though - as a wrap skirt Sarah is really forgiving, with the tie waist ensuring a perfect fit!

Hack Your Sarah

Whilst the original Sarah pattern is pretty simple, we have multiple hacks available to mix her up - why not try adding a pleated panel for a dressier look? Sarah can also be made into a gorgeous strappy wrap dress with our hack available here - perfect preparation for another heatwave!

Style Your Sarah

As well as being easy to make, our Sarah skirt is also super easy to style! The perfect all-rounder, Sarah looks great with an oversized jumper for a comfy, casual look.

For a simple summer look, style Sarah with a tied tee or crop top, or pair with a bralette for a cute co-ord style outfit!
